How do I return to the previous page or the first page I opened?
Use the back button in your browser to go back to the previous page. Hold and press the same button to see the history of visited pages.
If I click on a link to an excel or word document, where do I find these documents?
The document will appear in the left bottom corner of the page where you can open it.
Can I share an AWARE page or resource with an external user, e.g. an auditee?
External users will have access to AWARE through the [link new-window title="ECA%E2%80%99s%20website" link="https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eca.europa.eu%2Fen%2FPages%2FAuditMethodology.aspx" icon="external-link" /]
.
How do I know if the text is mandatory or good practice?
Please be guided by the modal verbs and other linguistic constructions used in the text.
What do I find in the General tab of the menu?
The general procedures page will open when clicking on the General in the top menu. It includes pages, organised in tiles, which apply to all three main task types (compliance, financial, performance). They are either fundamental to audit in general, or to the way ECA conducts audits (e.g. documentation, ECA’s commitment to standards), or they describe practical procedures to which the auditors may need to have quick access (e.g. notification, interviews, external experts).
You don’t need to worry about missing these pages if you directly consult the section of the respective task type. For example, the page Access rights will be included in the list of pages when clicking on either Compliance, Financial or Performance and then Concepts in the top menu.
Where do I find guidance on Reviews and Opinions?
Hover over More tab in the main menu.
How do I print an AWARE page?
You can print the page directly from the browser by selecting Print in the menu on the right top corner of the screen.
Note, that some text (often examples) is hidden by default. If you want that text to be printed, expand it by clicking on the arrow next to the respective section.
Where do I find all pages relevant to one task type?
The exhaustive list of pages relevant to a given task type can be found in a dedicated tab [icon name="ion-ios-list-outline" /]
PAGES on the main page of a particular task type. For example, if you are looking for pages relevant to performance audit, you click on Performance in the top menu and then on the tab Pages. The same applies if you are looking for a list of pages applicable to a particular task type and phase (e.g. Performance audit/Planning).
Can I print all guidance applicable to one type of task in one document?
No. In line with ECA GoGreen policy, which calls for reducing paper consumption, such a function is not available in AWARE. You are recommended to consult AWARE electronically, and print only single AWARE pages as needed.
How do I refer to the content of AWARE in my documents?
Use the unique reference number of each AWARE page that allows any AWARE page to be identified, when referring to an instruction. In order to find a page with a given reference number of an AWARE page, use search.
Where do I find a list of all pages included in AWARE?
You can access the index of all pages by clicking on Index either under Tools (“i" icon) on the top right corner or at the bottom of any page.
Why is documentation at the end of the AWARELINE, although it is applicable to the entire audit process?
It is true that it applies to the entire process but we had to put it at one place to avoid confusion and complexity.
How do I use the search?
The starting point is the term you are searching for. Type your term into the search bar on the AWARE home page or in the top menu on any other page. Limit the number of words to those that are likely to be unique to the topic you are searching for. Prefer natural English terms to the English used in the EU. Do not use full questions or phrases.
For AWARE pages, the search results display the page name, the Applies to-tags, the reference number and search highlights from within the page. The highlights indicate the context in which the term appears in the page or document. You can narrow down the search results by clicking on the refiners on the left. For instance, if you are working on a performance audit, narrow down the results to performance audit only. If you are looking for a checklist, use document type to narrow down the results.
I do not see all the features of AWARE. Why?
Check that you use the Chrome browser to open AWARE. Some of the features, for example a page summary when you hover over a link to an AWARE page, or pages under a bus sign on an AWARELINE, do not appear when using other internet browsers, such as Internet Explorer.
